MG eXpert digitises the car showroom experience with AI and AR

Bringing the car showroom home

For those worried about travelling out in these COVID times or just plain lazy to get off the couch, MG Motor India is bringing the experience of seeing and buying a car in a showroom to our homes with the launch of the MG eXpert platform. This online platform, developed in conjunction with Eccentric Engine, seeks to digitise the whole buying process from speaking to a showroom exec, zeroing in on a model to seeing the car (inside and out).
This platform is placed on the MG India website, and uses a mix of AI and artificial reality. While seeing a 3D model of the car and its accessories is not an entirely new concept, MG is taking things a step further by adding a human element.

Once a prospective buyer opts for MG eXpert, a trained representative gets on an online call to take them through the different model options, accessories list, on-road pricing, EMI options, and booking a test drive. This last bit is what MG says bridges the gap between virtual and face-to-face interaction.
MG Motor says that this platform will initially be available in select regions before a wider roll out by end of second quarter. There’s also a plan in place for a 24x7 service, which should be rolled out in the second half of this year.
