Microsoft’s latest 12-inch Surface Pro is served up with a side of cuteness!

Blends modern features with a compact form factor

Microsoft has introduced a new 12-inch Surface Pro, marking a welcome return to smaller form-factor PCs that don’t skimp on modern features or affordability. With a starting price of $799 (approx. ₹67,600 ), it reimagines what a compact device can be. At a time when compact computing has largely gone quiet, this new Surface Pro stands out as a refreshing alternative.

The device ditches is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus chip. Under the hood, you get an 8-core processor, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage—all running on Windows 11 Pro. Microsoft touts tighter integration with Copilot and Microsoft 365, thanks partly to an onboard NPU delivering 45 trillion operations per second (TOPS), helping the device feel faster and more responsive in everyday use. Battery life is pegged at around 12 hours during active browsing, as per Microsoft.

True to its Surface lineage, the 12-inch model keeps the 2-in-1 design, flipping between laptop and tablet modes. That said, its compact form factor leans it more toward tablet territory. One trade-off comes in the display department –while it skips the richness of OLED, the LCD panel is said to impress with a 2196 x 1464 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate.

Stylus support comes from the included Surface Slim Pen, which magnetically snaps onto the back for charging. For visuals, there's a 1080p front camera with Windows Hello facial recognition, plus a 10MP rear sensor. The device closely mirrors its larger 13-inch sibling, complete with the signature kickstand, weighing around 686g. Connectivity is handled by two USB-C ports, both rated for 10 Gbps USB 3.2 speeds.
