MWC 2025: Lenovo ThinkBook 3D concept laptop pairs a glasses-free 3D display with an AI ring for gesture controls

No glasses, no touch—just pure tech fun!

Lenovo is pushing the boundaries of 3D computing—with an AI flair on the side. Unveiled at MWC 2025, the ThinkBook 3D Laptop Concept ditches the need for glasses, promising a 3D experience through its hybrid display.

Powered by Directional Backlight 3D tech, the laptop switches between 2D and 3D modes, making it a bet for digital modelling, content creation, and virtual collaboration. It features a 3.2K display (3200×2000) with 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, promising sharp visuals and top-tier colour accuracy.

What makes this concept stand out is Lenovo’s AI Ring—a wearable designed to bring gesture-based control into the mix. This proof-of-concept accessory enables touch-free navigation, 3D model manipulation, and interactive UI adjustments with simple hand movements. Lenovo says the AI Ring is equipped with high-precision sensors for AI-driven motion tracking, letting users rotate objects, zoom, and interact with 3D environments with a wrist flick.

Since it’s still in the concept stage, Lenovo hasn’t spilt the details on specs yet. But given its ThinkBook lineage, it’s safe to assume the final version—if it ever hits shelves—will have the kind of next-gen hardware expected from Lenovo’s premium lineup.
