The new BMW M5 is a hybrid sportscar that can do 305km/h

You can even drive it on all-electric mode for up to 69km

The new BMW M5 has been launched in India, priced at Rs. 1,99,00,000. Pitched as the most powerful M5 yet, the new hybrid sports car features the reputed S68 4.4L V8 engine, as part of the M Hybrid powertrain which also includes an 18.6kWh battery. With a rated maximum power output of 727hp and peak torque of 1,000Nm, the BMW M5 can also do up to 69km on all-electric mode. Impressively, the top speed of the car is 305km/h (with the M Driver's package), and up to 140km/h on pure electric driving mode.

On the inside, there is a Bowers and Wilkins Diamond surround sound system, with 18 speakers and a 655W amplifier. BMW Operating System 8.5 powers the infotainment system and console, and provides information on electric charging points and various online services through the system which also includes a heads-up display. For safety, you get airbags, ABS, dynamic stability control, performance control, and more.

The car comes with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission, and three driving modes - M Hybrid, Electric, and eControl (for efficient energy regeneration). If you opt for the M Drive Professional package, you also get the track-specific Dynamic and Dynamic Plus modes. The BMW M5 can do 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds.

In India, the new BMW M5 will be available as a completely built-up (CBU) model, and is open for bookings now.
