The Nike Alphafly 3 have been making waves since Kelvin Kiptum smashed the world record at the Chicago Marathon wearing these kicks in October 2023. Now, the running shoes are going to hit the shelves early next year. Nike confirmed the shoes will be up for grabs starting January 4, 2024 for ₹22,795.
The Alphafly 3 comes in at 15% lighter than its predecessor, the Alphafly 2, and 4% lighter than the original Alphafly. In a men’s US size 10, this latest shoe clocks in at 7.7 oz (218 gms), while in a women’s US size 8, it’s 6.2 oz (175 gms). Sporting an upgraded Atomkit 3.0 upper, the shoe is said to be more breathable now.
The latest alteration in the midsole is its unified bottom - the midsole and outsole, now, flow together, unlike the previous two generations. As per Nike, it will make the ride smoother for runners of any skill level. To bolster stability in the Alphafly 3, Nike has widened the carbon fibre plate. Additionally, beneath the forefoot, the two Air Zoom units are tweaked, both horizontally and vertically, to amp up the energy return.
