Lego has officially taken the wraps off its much-anticipated Game Boy set, giving classic Nintendo lovers a new collectable to look forward to. Priced at $59 (approx. Rs. 5000), the 421-piece kit is now up for pre-order and will hit shelves on October 1, 2025.
Roughly matching the original Game Boy in size at 5.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide, the Lego build replicates the 1989 handheld console with impressive accuracy. It includes functional buttons, a turning dial, and even a slot for a Game Pak, making it a faithful, buildable homage to one of Nintendo’s most iconic devices.
The Lego Game Boy set also comes with swappable lenticular screen inserts that recreate iconic moments from Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. These scenes are brought to life with included brick-built cartridges and lenticular tiles that shift images when tilted, mimicking gameplay animation, such as the classic Nintendo logo startup or a scene featuring Link and Marin.

True to detail, the build includes physical features like the original "Dot Matrix with Stereo Sound" label. Lego has also chosen to use printed tiles instead of stickers for a more polished and long-lasting finish.
While the Lego Game Boy can’t run real games, it’s crafted as a faithful display model that taps into retro nostalgia. Designed with adult collectors and classic gaming fans in mind, the set comes with a dedicated display stand and a detailed instruction manual—available in print and via the Lego Builder app.
