After months of rumours and speculation, tech company Nothing has finally unveiled the design of its first-ever upcoming smartphone – Nothing phone (1).
In line with the previous leaks, this upcoming phone does feature a transparent back. As per the company, the back panel sports a mechanical design composed of over 400 components drawing its inspiration from artist Massimo Vignelli who designed New York’s subway map.
As is the trend among tech companies these days, the phone has been built using 100% recycled aluminium, while over 50% of the phone’s plastic are recycled materials.
From the pictures it is evident that the Nothing phone (1) features a flat design with the antenna lines on the frame. There’s a power button on the right edge, and volume keys located on the left. At the bottom is the USB-C port, joined by a speaker grille and a microphone.
The phone was also caught on an alleged hands-on video showing the back panel lighting up. This could potentially be notification lights alerting you when you receive notifications, charge the phone, or launch a game.
The Nothing phone (1) officially launches on July 12 via a virtual event at 8:30 PM (IST). We will also be bringing you all the details as and when they break, so stay tuned.
