The upcoming OnePlus 15 will get state-of-the-art hardware inclduing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, but that won't be it from a performance perspective. The big new flagship device will also be getting the Gaming Core suite, developed in-house by OnePlus to provide better performance during mobile gaming by handling various related functions that go beyond just the processor and RAM. It's a set of chip-level optimisations, built specifically for gaming and to get the phone to operate at a higher and more efficient level when you're playing games on the go.
The tech suite starts with the OnePlus CPU scheduler, which works to optimise task implentation at the CPU level. It replaces the default Completely Fair Scheduler, thereby allowing the new scheduler to make more subjective decisions of where to direct power and resources - useful during gaming. This reduces CPU load and power consumption, which will keep the phone going strong even in the long term, if you game a lot. Expect up to 120Hz gaming regularly - with supported games, of course.

There's also HyperRendering which ensures more efficient GPU usage, and this should also make screen recordings of gameplay sessions that much nicer looking.
There's also the Tri-Chip system, which combines the performance chip, touch-response chip, and Wi-Fi chip G2. The first is built on top of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, the second ensures better responses to touch inputs for faster controls, and the third improves network stability and gets better connectivity in weak signal environments - necessary to ensure competitiveness in online multiplayer games which are popular on smartphones.
Finally, OP FPS Max is a high frame-rate gaming solution for devices going forward. Although 120fps is the norm now (many smartphones support these displays), OnePlus is aiming to make 165fps the new normal going forward, and has already started developing and integrating those possibilities into the OnePlus 15. It should be functional with some popular games straight away, but more details on this are expected.
OnePlus flagship devices have typically been known for their performance focus, and have been favoured by gaming users for it. These new technologies should hope to cement the brand's reputation as one of the best for gaming in the Android space, and generally one for those who seek top-level performance.
