OpenAI has introduced a preview of its ChatGPT app for Windows, now available to paid subscribers. You can download the early version from the Microsoft Store. "Starting today, ChatGPT Plus, Enterprise, Team, and Edu users can test the early release of the Windows desktop app. Use the Alt + Space shortcut for quicker access on your PC," OpenAI shared in a post on X.
The Windows version of the ChatGPT app, much like its Mac counterpart, enables you to interact with the AI chatbot in a separate window while multitasking with other applications. You can launch the app using the Alt + Space shortcut. The app also allows for file and photo uploads, document summarisation, and image creation through OpenAI's Dall-E 3 generator.
Additionally, the app includes a preview of OpenAI’s o1 model, which enhances reasoning abilities. While compatible with most Windows 10 devices, it does have some limitations, such as the absence of advanced voice mode. Eligible users can download the app by visiting the ChatGPT website and selecting "Test an early version of the Windows app."
