Panasonic Lumix S1II and S1IIE full-frame mirrorless cameras have AI-powered Phase Hybrid Autofocus

To tracks eyes, faces, and fast-moving subjects

Panasonic has introduced two new flagships in its full-frame mirrorless range,  the Lumix S1II and Lumix S1IIE, designed for professional photographers, filmmakers, and dedicated content creators. The S1II is priced at Rs.3,29,990, while the S1IIE will retail for Rs.2,69,990.

Both the S1II and S1IIE share Panasonic’s AI-powered Phase Hybrid Autofocus, locking onto eyes, faces, and even fast-moving subjects. You also get 8-stop in-body stabilisation, Apple ProRes RAW HQ support, blackout-free shooting, and smooth integration with tools like Capture One, Frame.io, and Lumix Flow.

The Lumix  S1II features a new 24.1MP full-frame partially stacked CMOS sensor, working alongside Panasonic’s latest Venus Engine for faster processing and sharper, richer image quality. On the video front, it can shoot in 5.8K 60p, 5.1K 60p, and 4K 120p, with up to 15 stops of dynamic range in V-Log for those cinematic-grade colour edits.

Panasonic says the cam is built with speed in mind so it is capable of blackout-free burst shooting at a 70fps in SH/SH PRE mode, the quickest in the Lumix family. There’s also Open Gate 5.1K 60p recording for flexible reframing or vertical formats. Panasonic says it has more in store, with upcoming firmware set to add multi-frame marker displays to make life easier for multi-platform creators.

The Lumix S1IIE, on the other hand, takes cues from the S5II, bringing a 24.2MP sensor with 6K 30p open-gate recording and a cinematic 2.4:1 aspect ratio at up to 60p without cropping. It offers more than 14 stops of dynamic range in V-Log, blackout-free burst shooting at up to 30fps electronically, and 10fps with the mechanical shutter.
