Philips’ latest Fidelio FT1 merges classic physical media with contemporary streaming, offering a Bluetooth-enabled turntable that also doubles as a CD player.
Visually resembling a modern turntable, the Fidelio FT1 incorporates a built-in CD player into its chassis. The turntable employs a belt-drive system with two playback speeds, while the CD player features a front-mounted tray-loading design. According to Philips, the two systems are mechanically isolated, and the company managed to fit a surprisingly compact CD mechanism within the turntable’s body.
The FT1 is equipped with a die-cast aluminium platter and a rubber slip mat to minimise vibrations, alongside an extruded aluminium tonearm fitted with a replaceable Audio-Technica MM cartridge. An auto-stop feature halts the platter at the end of a record side.
The turntable also includes a built-in phono stage, offering RCA stereo outputs for connection to a hi-fi amplifier or active speakers. A 3.5mm headphone jack is integrated into the minimalist design for personal listening.
Alternatively, the FT1 offers a wireless option with Bluetooth 5.4, allowing you to stream records and CDs to compatible speakers and headphones. It also supports Auracast sharing and the LC3 codec.
Physical playback buttons and a dimmable LCD display let you switch sources and adjust volume, while a Philips control app provides additional control and customization.
The Philips FT1 Bluetooth turntable is priced at €299 (approx. Rs. 30,729).
