Philips’ new Fidelio L4 over-ear headphones and T2 in-earbuds come with new graphene coating

For the audiophiles amongst us

Philips revealed two new audio devices in its Fidelio Line of products: a new pair of over-ear wireless headphones- the Fidelio L4 and in-ear T2 true wireless earphones.

Let’s take you through the headphone first. The Fidelio L4 has Philips’ own 40mm driver with a new feature, the graphene coating that improves the stiffness and provides a lower distortion for a clearer mid and high-range sound.

The L4 also features an improved four-mic Hybrid Adaptive ANC system which, as per the brand, offers better noise cancellation because the venting port for the external noise mic has been moved making it less sensitive to wind noise. And there is an extra voice pick-up mic dedicated to removing background sounds, to help improve call quality.

As for battery life and connectivity, the L4 comes with 50 hours of playback (slightly less with ANC switched on) and Bluetooth 5.3, support for LDAC and LC3 codecs, along with a 3.5mm cable or USB-C connection for hardwiring.

Moving on to the in-ear Fidelio T2, as per the brand, the latest buds are 20 percent smaller than its predecessor and come in an IPX4 splash proof charging case that is also 40 percent smaller.

It has a 9.2mm graphene coated dynamic driver along with an optimised armature driver and six mics for ANC (three in each bud) -  two mics offer the maximum level of adaptive noise cancellation, while one is a dedicated voice pick up mic to lower the impact of wind noise.

And, there is Bluetooth 5.3 and Google Fast Pair. As for battery, the T2 delivers nine hours of continuous playback with a further 27 hours of playback via the charging case. To know the price you’ll have to stay tuned as it is yet to be announced.
