To mark half a century since the debut of its original Chronograph I, Porsche Design has unveiled a new special-edition timepiece crafted entirely from titanium—its first to fully embrace this material with a raw, minimalist aesthetic.
This Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition watch pays homage to the clean, brushed-metal finish of the 1975 successor to the legendary all-black 1972 original. While it channels the vintage look, the new model is reimagined with contemporary materials and precision engineering, blending heritage with innovation.
Capped at 350 units, this exclusive chronograph features an uncoated titanium case and bracelet—lightweight and durable—paired with a matte black dial modelled after the Porsche 911’s iconic dashboard.
Powering the timepiece is Porsche Design’s in-house COSC-certified Calibre WERK 01.240—an automatic flyback chronograph movement that allows for instant reset and restart of the stopwatch function. It is housed in a 42.7mm titanium case with a finely bead-blasted matte texture. A titanium folding clasp with micro-adjustment and the original Porsche Design emblem adds both comfort and historical detail.
Sharp white numerals and indices, a striking red seconds hand, and Super-LumiNova-coated baton hands ensure maximum readability, day or night. Adding to its utility, the watch includes a bilingual date display (German and English) and a tachymeter scale integrated into the rehaut, reinforcing its tool-watch credentials..
On the reverse, the caseback bears engravings that highlight its limited-edition status, including “1975,” the individual production number, and “Flyback Automatic.” The collector’s appeal is further elevated by its custom presentation box, which includes a commemorative plaque and the signature of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche.
The Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition is priced at $9650 (approx. Rs 8,60,000).
