Range Rover Velar Autobiography launched in India, price starts at Rs. 89.90 lakh (ex-showroom)

Velar just got a luxe upgrade with the Autobiography trim

The Velar has just levelled up. Range Rover has rolled out the new Autobiography edition of its luxury SUV in India, priced at Rs. 89.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This new top-of-the-line variant brings more sophistication and equipment while keeping the familiar silhouette largely intact. Under the hood, it continues to offer both petrol and diesel powertrain options.

While the dimensions haven’t changed, the Autobiography stands out with its refined detailing—look out for the furnished copper accents on the bumpers, doors, and badging. New 20-inch Satin Dark Grey alloys and Pixel LED headlights give it a sharper edge. Also expect the premium experience that justifies the badge, plus a longer feature list to match the luxury billing.

Inside, the new Autobiography trim amps up the luxury with Windsor leather seats featuring 20-way adjustability and massage functions up front, power-reclining rear seats, a suede headliner, and a sliding panoramic sunroof. The tech package includes a 12.3-inch digital driver display, a new curved 11.4-inch touchscreen with Land Rover’s latest infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four-zone climate control, and a premium Meridian 3D Surround Sound System.

Under the hood, you can choose between a 2.0-litre P250 petrol engine – 183.9 kW, 365 Nm or a D200 mild-hybrid diesel – 150 kW, 430 Nm. Both are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Land Rover’s signature all-wheel-drive system. The Autobiography also features off-road tech, including Terrain Response 2, Adaptive Dynamics, Electronic Air Suspension, and Wade Sensing, making it as capable as it is luxurious.

It also brings a full suite of safety features, including a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, hill descent control, ABS, EBD, and more, underscoring its focus on comfort without compromising capability. Topping the Velar lineup, the Autobiography trim arrives as the most premium version of the SUV in India, sitting above the Dynamic SE which is priced around Rs. 84.90 lakh.
