Samsonite showcases just how tough it’s luggage is with new ‘Tested Like Samsonite’ ad campaign

Former F1 driver Karun Chandhok and actor Milind Soman feature in the new ads for Samsonite

The Samsonite luggage range is probably among the most well-known the world over, with a reputation for toughness and longevity at reasonable prices that don’t quite force you to break the bank. Further highlighting the toughness of the suitcases and travel luggage is Samsonite’s latest ad campaign, which puts the bags through testing conditions along with two well-known Indian sportspersons. The ‘Tested Like Samsonite’ campaign features former F1 driver Karun Chandhok and actor and endurance athlete Milind Soman, putting the luggage through the paces.

Interestingly, the latest Samsonite campaign is a six-part TVC series which will also feature Tennis player Sania Mirza, chef Garima Arora, entrepreneur and TV personality Ghazal Alagh, and actor Vidyut Jammwal. Each television commercial features one of the influential personalities putting a specific lineup from Samsonite to the test using their particular area of expertise.

The ad featuring Karun Chandhok is perhaps the most interesting one in the series and features the Lite-Shock trolley suitcase being punished through a gruelling tumble test while tied to the back of a drift car being driven by the former F1 driver from India. The bag is knocked around quite a bit, but emerges entirely undamaged at the end of the test, thanks to the sheer resilience of the luggage. The trolley wheels are perfectly fine, too.

Milind Soman takes the Samsonite EVOA on a running and cycling endurance test, designed to showcase the sturdiness and longevity of the wheels over long distances and different surfaces. Sania Mirza tests the impact resistance of the Proxis luggage, while Ghazal Alagh subjects the Cubelite luggage to an extreme industrial test involving being pressed by a loaded forklift.

Samsonite’s range of sturdy luggage and bags starts at under ₹10,000 in India, going up depending on size, durability, use case, and materials.
