Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro announced

A galaxy on your wrist

If you’re a millennial living in the Android camp, chances are that you have already had a Galaxy Watch handy at some point. If not, the 5th gen wearables offer significant updates.
A lot of work has gone into making the Galaxy Watch 5 work while you sleep, thanks to the Advanced Sleep Coaching. Over a four week course, the Galaxy Watch 5 can actually coddle you to sleep and monitor the quality while you’re at it. Samsung claims that the new design of the hardware has resulted in a glass curvature that makes the bio-active sensors more accurate, due to better contact. Over the top, Gorilla Glass has been replaced by an even more resilient Sapphire Crystal which should bode well with outdoor activities.
Speaking of outdoors, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro amps it up to 11 with an all-new design that is even more durable, with a Titanium body and a magnetic D-buckle strap. The iconic Galaxy Watch bezel gestures are retained on both the new watches, but the Pro’s raised edges just makes it a bit more tactile.
Its ability to accept GPX files allows it to be worn off the grid too, so you’re never hunting for a signal to guide you. Map data with your route can be saved on the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and its Track Back feature will always get you back home with guided navigation so you never get lost in the woods again, Rambo.
A 20 hour battery life might not be Rambo-like for Garmin owners, but Samsung claims an 80 hour battery life during standby and normal use, which has our interest.
Prices for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 start from ₹27,999 for the Bluetooth variant, and ₹32,999 for the LTE variant. Pro variant prices, on the other hand, start from ₹44,999 for the Bluetooth model, and ₹49,999 for the LTE model. Both smartwatches are up for pre-orders starting today.
