Sony's Project Defiant is the first wireless fight stick for PS5 and PC

Set to launch in 2026, this could be the must-have fight stick for PS5 brawlers!

PlayStation has unveiled Project Defiant — its debut wireless arcade fight stick. Built with competitive players in mind, this controller connects to your PS5 or PC using PlayStation Link, Sony’s proprietary tech promising ultra-responsive, low-latency input. For those who prefer a wired setup, there’s also a USB-C port to hook it up directly for that classic plug-and-play reliability.

Project Defiant features a custom-built digital stick crafted by Sony Interactive Entertainment, paired with mechanical switch buttons for a crisp, responsive feel. It also includes a DualSense-style touchpad and swappable restrictor gates—square, circular, or octagonal—so players can tailor the joystick movement to their fighting style.

Aesthetically, it’s a looker with a sharp two-tone finish with a black joystick side and white button layout. There's also a dedicated PlayStation Link button for quick pairing. Sony’s even thrown in a travel-friendly case, complete with a lever slot to protect the stick on the go.

Slated for a 2026 launch, more info is expected to drop in the coming months.
