Sony α6700 is an APS-C mirrorless interchangeable lens camera

For capturing moments sharper than your wit!

Sony's rolling out the α6700 (ILCE-6700) with a promise to back up creators big time! The latest APS-C mirrorless camera, combines the still image and video capabilities of the full-frame Alpha and Cinema Line series with the compact and lightweight design of the α6000 series, resulting in Sony's most advanced APS-C mirrorless camera to date, as per the brand.

The camera can handle 4K video recording at up to 120fps, plus it grabs detail with a wide range of 14+ stops even in tricky lighting or tough situations. The α6700 also features the S-Cinetone picture profile found in Sony’s professional Cinema Line. Translation? Your movie shots will look pro without needing all that fancy colour tweaking, plus it delivers stunning representation of human skin tones, Sony says.

The newest APS-C size, back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor features around 26.0 effective megapixels. It's accompanied by Sony’s Bionz XR engine, promising better imaging performance. Its standard ISO sensitivity range covers 100 to 32000, for both still photos and videos.

Enhanced colour reproduction aims to accurately capture subjects like people and plants with natural hues. Alongside this, the camera includes Creative Look features for adding visual elements. The AI processing unit, inherited from the ‘α7R V’, enables accurate Real-Time Recognition AF (autofocus). Expanding beyond the α6000 series, this camera now includes recognition for humans, animals, birds, insects, cars/trains, and aeroplanes, catering to various creative expressions. Moreover, it's compatible with a wide range of E-mount lenses, including those designed for full-frame and Cinema Line cameras, all accessible with a single mount.

The α6700 features a touch-operable vari-angle LCD monitor along with a modern touch menu. Plus, it offers customisation with a front dial and switching dials dedicated to still images, movies, and S&Q modes. With an optical 5-axis in-body image stabilisation system, it provides a 5.0 stops shutter speed advantage for stills and an Active Mode for added stability.

In terms of connectivity, the camera now supports the Creators App, allowing easy uploads of videos and still images to cloud services. Priced for ₹136,990 (body only), the Sony α6700 (ILCE-6700) will be available to purchase after November 20, 2023.
