Sony has introduced the Bravia 8 II QD-OLED series in India, expanding its premium TV lineup with models designed to deliver a more cinematic home viewing experience. Powered by Sony’s XR processor with AI capabilities, the new series is available in 65-inch and 55-inch screen sizes and comes equipped with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support.
At the core of the Bravia 8 II is a fusion of QD-OLED technology and Sony’s advanced XR AI processor, which enhances image depth, colour vibrancy, and contrast, as per Sony. With XR Contrast Booster and real-time AI scene recognition, the TVs adjust brightness and detail dynamically, ensuring visuals appear lifelike with rich shadow definition and accurate colour reproduction.
On the audio front, the Bravia 8 II series uses Acoustic Surface Audio+ tech, where hidden actuators vibrate the screen itself to produce sound directly from the display. Combined with built-in subwoofers, Sony says this setup delivers deeper bass and a more immersive, spatial audio experience.
The Bravia 8 II QD-OLED series also offers advanced content optimisation features, including support for 4K upscaling, which enhances lower-resolution content to near-4K clarity. It supports 4K HDR, IMAX Enhanced content, and a range of calibrated viewing modes tailored for specific platforms and creator intent. These include Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode, Sony Pictures Core Calibrated Mode, and the newly introduced Prime Video Calibrated Mode. Additionally, a dedicated Studio Calibrated Mode ensures visuals are reproduced just as the creators intended, making it ideal for cinephiles and content purists.
For gamers, Sony has fine-tuned the Bravia 8 II with features like Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), designed to maximise performance with the PlayStation 5. Gamers can also easily tweak settings such as VRR and Motion Blur Reduction for smoother, more responsive gameplay tailored to their preferences.
As for prices, Sony Bravia 8 II QD-OLED 65-inch is priced at Rs. 3,41,990, whereas the 55-inch model retails at Rs. 2,46,990.
