Sony Bravia XR OLED A80K series of smart TVs come with human brain-like technology

A treat for the eyes, hell for the pockets…

Here we are once more, bringing to you the latest TVs the market has to offer. But this time, we take you to the other end of the size and budget spectrum with Sony’s new Bravia XR OLED A80K series. Currently available in 77in and 65in models, Sony will soon be adding an additional 55in model to the range. Here comes the pinch… The XR77A80K is priced at a whopping ₹6,99,900 while the XR65A80K is priced at ₹2,79,990.

These are the best tellies Sony has to offer. Firstly, the look. With a minimalist design with a Flush Surface bezel and a 3-way, multi-position stand, the TV is definitely easy on the eyes. More importantly, the A80K series comes powered by the Cognitive Processor XR which claims to think like a human brain, better understanding what a high-quality viewing experience needs. The technology is well-versed in how the human eye focuses, cross-analyzing images to give real-life depth, better contrast and more accurate colour. The display itself comes with features like XR OLED Contrast Pro, XR Motion Clarity, XR Triluminos Pro, XR 4K Upscaling and XR OLED Motion technology. Working together this technology allows for well-balanced, accurate colour upscaled to the best resolution possible.

Equipped with a self-illuminating OLED panel, the TV even supports a dedicated game mode. The game mode comes with HDMI 2.1 compatibility, 4K 120fps and a Variable Refresh Rate. Additionally, it supports Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Auto HDR Tone and Auto Game Mode. Auto Game Mode automatically switches back to the standard mode when watching movies on PlayStation 5 consoles, to focus on the picture processing that movies require. You can also pair the Bravia Cam (sold separately), to enjoy gesture control features.

The Dolby Vision display is paired with Dolby Atmos sound, IMAX Enhanced and Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode, to enhance your binging experience. Acoustic Surface Audio+ and XR Surround with 3D surround upscaling take care of the sound department. The A80K telly compensates and optimizes to room conditions by boosting brightness in light rooms and reducing it in dark ones with a little help from the ambient optimization, light sensor and acoustic auto calibration tech.

Last but not least the A80K series comes with Google TV to provide you with the content to binge, working seamlessly with Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit Now, and of course, the voice assistant. It also reduces power consumption while increasing picture quality, doing its bit for the environment.
