Sony LinkBuds step into the “ring” with a unique new design

Miniature marvel

In a world where every Tom, Dick and Harry has stepped into the TWS market, Sony has decided to try something new and interesting. The new LinkBuds sport a micro speaker with a unique open-ring design, hollow at the centre. This ring rests just outside your ear to allow ambient sound to pass through, giving you better awareness of your surrounding with a “never off” listening experience.

The super compact, ergonomic design allows these buds to weigh just four grams in weight. The 12mm ring driver provides rich sound quality and 360 Reality Audio, that makes you feel as though you are just a few feet away from your favourite artists. It even uses Precise Voice Pickup Technology to help have clearer calls and conversations.

The buds have also included Adaptive Volume Control which adjusts the volume depending on your surroundings to keep you comfortable anywhere you go without having to fiddle too much. Sony has also included 5 sizes of fitting supporters to match different ear shapes. You can easily control the audio by tapping in front of your ears thanks to the Wide Area Tap feature, or simply just enjoy the voice assistant support.

These buds come with 17.5-hour battery life with the case and 10 minutes of quick charging can give you up to 90 mins playtime. They are easy to pair via Bluetooth Pairing with Fast and Swift Pair and come with an IPX4 rating, which is reasonably resistant to water and sweat. Completely eco-friendly in its packing, Sony will be selling these buds at ₹19,990. For a deeper dive into the buds, check out our review.
