The 2023 BMW S1000RR has more downforce thanks to winglets

More power and style

BMW Motorrad pulled the covers off the 2023 iteration of its much-sought-after flagship motorbike – The S1000RR,  and this new model comes with an array of changes made with an aim to intensify the riding experience.

The first major update in the 2023 edition of the superbike is the winglets around the front LED lights, along with the overall look these winglets enhance the functionality quotient. They can create a maximum of up to 10kg of downforce on the front fairing depending on the speed, this will mitigate the tendency of the bike to wheelie when accelerated. Better for maintaining a quick pace, eh?

Another crucial add-on is the new controlled slide tech function, this feature uses steering angle sensors and allows riders to choose between two preset drift angles that decide how the bike will react while accelerating through the corners. The new version also gets Brake Slide Assist and ABS modes that also make use of the steering angle sensors.

It gets a revised inline four-cylinder 999cc engine that makes 206.5bhp at 13,750rpm (depending on the geography). The brand also said the engine speed on the new RR is broader than before with the maximum speed being 14,600rpm.

Some of the other features incorporated in the latest S1000RR are a lightweight battery, riding modes for the track as well as road, a USB charging port, revised 45mm upside-down forks, a pitlane limiter and an updated 6.5in colour TFT display. It also gets three new liveries and comes at a starting price of ₹19.75 lakhs.
