The latest Luna is A&K’s highest-spec IEM so far!

With planar magnetic drivers

Audiophiles have no shortage of premium headphones to choose from, but models featuring planar magnetic drivers often sit at the top of the wish list—for good reason. That’s precisely the sonic signature Astell & Kern is aiming for with the Luna, its latest high-end in-ear monitor. Drawing inspiration from the moon, the Luna marks the third addition to the brand’s IEM lineup and stands out as its most indulgent creation to date.

The Luna earphones are no off-the-shelf affair—they’re a meticulous collaboration with Japanese audio artisan Madoo, built around a bespoke 13mm planar-magnetic driver named Katabiki. This single-driver setup uses a magnet paired with a dual ring-shaped yoke, engineered for precision and finesse, as per A&K. The ultra-thin diaphragm and unipolar magnetic circuit promise remarkable clarity and an impressively lifelike tonal character.

The earphone shells are hewn from titanium, making them both light and rugged. The cable is just as premium—crafted from a hybrid of silver-plated OCC and copper OCC wiring, with each connector encased in aluminium for added integrity and elegance.

Inside the box, you’ll find a well-appointed ear tip selection to dial in your perfect fit—three Baroque pairs, three AET07s, and even a daring set of foam tips for the brave-hearted. It’s all bundled up in a lush Alcantara carry case because naturally, something this refined needs to travel in style.

The Astell & Kern Luna earphones are priced at $2700 (approx. Rs. 2,30,000).
