Triumph Thruxton 400 launched in India for Rs. 2.74 lakh (ex-showroom)

Speed 400’s cooler cousin!

Cafe racers speak to those who ride for the thrill and the aesthetic  — now, this experience is more within reach with the Triumph Thruxton 400. Priced at Rs. 2.74 lakh (ex-showroom), it stands out as one of Triumph’s more accessible café racers.

The Thruxton 400 share its bones with the Speed 400, but it’s different in spirit. As the brand’s first café racer built on the 400cc platform, it leans fully into retro racing style. It features clip-on handlebars, bar-end mirrors, a sleek half fairing, and a single-seat setup topped with a cowl for when company calls.

Style-wise, it's got a sculpted tank featuring a new inset Triumph logo, a clean rectangular tail-light, and brushed aluminium accents on the side panels to seal the deal. It also features a classic round headlamp with integrated LED DRLs. At the rear, its got a freshly designed tail-light.

It comes equipped with upside-down telescopic front forks, a rear mono-shock, and disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS. The bike rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels. For rider info and controls, it features a semi-digital instrument cluster with a classic analogue tachometer, a gear position indicator, and switchable traction control.

The Triumph Thruxton 400 is powered by the same 398cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine found in the Speed 400, but with a few tweaks. It’s been retuned to deliver 42 hp and 37 Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox paired with a slipper clutch.
