TVS X is a premium electric scooter for ₹2.5 lakhs

All art and all substance?

After numerous teasers and endless speculations, TVS has finally taken the wraps off their new sporty electric scooter, the TVS X. At first glance, it looks pretty sporty and different from your usual scooters – no front footboard and those bulky side panels are nowhere to be found. It's a departure from the usual scooter style for sure!

It brings an array of digital and connected functionalities to the table, including a user-friendly navigation system, an EV charger locator, and the capability to share your vehicle's live location.

It is equipped with Play Tech, offering a range of features for wellness, gaming, browsing and live video. It can also connect with your smartphone, smartwatch, and helmet. Additionally, the scooter includes Smart Shield, a security feature designed to thwart unauthorised access.

The X also sports a 10.2in TFT fully-digital instrument cluster that's adaptable for different viewing angles. This cluster is essentially an extension of TVS' X Connect OS and now operates on the NavPro UI, complete with integrated maps from Here Maps, so you have offline navigation at your fingertips. An interesting highlight is the all-LED lighting system, particularly the headlight, which boasts LEDs that can be individually customisable to suit your preferences.

Under the hood, it's equipped with a ram air-cooled motor for effective cooling across various driving situations. This scooter also boasts a brand-new permanent magnet motor that promises a top speed of 105 kmph and an acceleration from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.6 seconds. Moreover, it offers three distinct driving modes: Stealth, Xtride, and Xonic to cater to different preferences and needs. Additionally, it offers selectable regenerative braking for improved efficiency and next-gen ABS for enhanced safety during your journeys. There's also a high-strength aluminium frame called the TVS XLETON which keeps these bits in place.

Powering the X is a 4.4kWh battery that has an IDC range of 140 km and when it comes to charging at home, TVS says, you can expect a speedy 0-50 percent charge in less than an hour when using a 3kW fast charger. The TVS X is priced at ₹2.5 lakh (ex-showroom) and bookings will begin on August 24, at midnight, while deliveries will commence from December onwards.
