Twitters’ Legacy Blue Ticks to go away from April 1

Holding on tight would not make any difference

We weren’t too happy when Twitter announced it shall sell the OG bluetick, now in the series comes a new revelation, the Elon Musk owned micro-blogging site will remove all “legacy verified checkmarks” starting April 1, (hoping for it to be an April Fool’s day prank).

In an official tweet, the company said “On April 1st, we will begin winding down our legacy verified program and removing legacy verified checkmarks. To keep your blue checkmark on Twitter, individuals can sign up for Twitter Blue here."

Wondering what’s the implication for you, well in simple words the blue tick has quite literally lost its worth because only those who pay for it can keep it moving forward from April 1. Furthermore the tweet also read that the “companies will also need to pay for their blue ticks and they can sign up for the ‘Verified Organizations’ program.”
