Urban Company is stepping into the branded products category with a new range of smart RO water purifiers launched under the sub-brand ‘Native’. The purifiers come with a claim to be India's first water purifiers that won't require servicing for two years. UC says it can pump out 12,000 litres of pure water without begging for filter changes.
UC also ensures that even if you find yourself in a rare situation where a replacement is necessary, it will be picking up the tab, so you won't be opening your wallet for any service or maintenance during this two-year purifier party. And, once you get the servicing done, you may not require it for the next two years. So basically UC claims these new purifiers only need servicing once in two years.
There are two models in the range — M1 and M2. Both come with an 8-litre tank capacity. The M2, the top dog in this lineup, is IoT-enabled so with the Urban Company app, you can keep an eye on your purifier's performance, check real-time TDS levels, monitor filter health status and even keep tabs on how much water you've dispensed.
It'll also ping you if your purifier needs maintenance or a filter is not working at optimum capacity, so you don't have to break a sweat and keep tabs on your annual maintenance cycle. M1, on the other hand, does not support app integration, so it will just be like any regular RO water purifier.
When it comes to water purification, the M1 has 9 stages of filtration (RO + UV + UF + MTDS Minerals and Alkaline Filters) that is claimed to remove 99.99% impurities including chemical contaminants like metal ions, chromium, lead, and sodium and reduce arsenic, radium, fluoride, sulphate, magnesium, amongst others.
The M2 has 10 stages of filtration, with all the stages of the M1 device + copper-charged filters. When it comes to looks, both these purifiers have a sleek and minimalist design, sporting a matte and piano black finish. Plus, you get the flexibility of three preset water dispensing modes - choose from 250ml, 750ml, or just let it flow freely. The Native M1 and M2 are priced at ₹13,999 and ₹17,999, respectively.
