Vivo X200 Ultra, the brand’s ultimate camera-focused smartphone, is out in China now

With a 200mm add-on Zeiss lens

Vivo just launched the X200 Ultra in China, and its camera setup is definitely the headline act. A wild 2.35x telephoto converter and a camera grip that turns this phone into something straight out of a photography fever dream. Snap on that Zeiss-developed lens using the grip and boom—you’ve got yourself a 200mm (8.7x) periscope beast. Yes, on a phone.

Under the hood, the X200 Ultra borrows the same 50MP (f/1.6, 35mm) Sony LYT-818 main sensor from the X200 Pro. That’s joined by a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 14mm f/2.2 lens and a 200MP telephoto camera featuring Samsung’s HP9 sensor. Vivo says it's tuned to pull in more light, which means better low-light zoom shots without sacrificing detail.

Vivo also seems to have gone all in on the silicon. The X200 Ultra features a duo of dedicated imaging chips, the V3+ and VS1, both trained in the dark arts of AI photography. These chips are said to enhance colour tones, tidy up background blur, sharpen details, and stretch dynamic range like a pro editor.

For video buffs, there’s plenty to play with – 4K at 120 fps, pro-grade 4K 60 fps with 10-bit log for serious grading, and 8K at 30 fps if you're feeling extra cinematic.

At the heart of it all is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite chip—built on a 3nm process and backed by the Adreno 830 GPU. It ships with a generous 16GB of RAM, and you can take your pick from 256GB, 512GB, or a whopping 1TB of storage. On the software side, it runs OriginOS 5 (based on Android 15), and Vivo promises four years of Android updates plus five years of security patches.

The X200 Ultra has a 6.82-inch QHD+ OLED display with 4500 nits at peak brightness. It’s crisp at 518ppi with a 120Hz refresh rate, and curves ever so gently on all four edges for that luxe, modern feel. Up top, there’s a punch-hole bang in the centre.

The phone packs a sizable 6,000mAh Silicon-Carbon battery. You get 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. Connectivity? The whole nine yards – 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, dual-band GPS, NFC, an IR blaster for your home gadgets, and a USB-C 3.2 port.

Prices for the Vivo X200 Ultra kick off at CNY 6,499 (around ₹76,000).
