Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 update brings a terrifying new foe

Stand together and fight for the Emperor!

Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have released the "Trygon" update for their third-person action game, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, bringing with it a mix of free and paid content to the game. The free content centres around the new “Exfiltration" mission, which sends players back to Avarax to bring the wrath of the emperor to the mighty Trygon, a Tyranid threat like no other. This new boss is described as a towering terror, specialising in guerrilla tactics, with the ability to burrow below defence lines and harass players, requiring teamwork and skill to take down. To help players combat this threat, the update also introduces the Inferno Pistol, a new secondary weapon.

Beyond the new mission and weapon, the "Trygon" update includes several quality-of-life improvements for all players. These include the introduction of Prestige Ranks and Rewards, a rework of weapon perks, the ability to customise the colour of cloth, tabards, and hoods, and the addition of Custom PvP lobbies for up to 12 players.

For Season Pass owners, the update also brings two new DLCs in the form of two new Space Marine Chapters. The Space Wolves Chapter Pack adds a new Champion skin for the Vanguard class, three weapon skins (Chainsword, Bolt Carbine, and Thunder Hammer), and over 50 unique cosmetics and colours. The Imperial Fists Champion Pack includes a Champion skin for the Tactical class and a unique Plasma Incinerator skin, bringing the sons of Dorne into the fray.
