Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 launched to wage war on tiny pollutants

Breathe easy

Xiaomi’s latest gadget is a breath of fresh air in a very literal sense. The brand-spanking new Smart Air Purifier 4 series has been unveiled, and the lineup includes Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4, Smart Air Purifier 4 Pro, and Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite.
They feature a 3-in-1 filtration system combining electrostatic charge and mechanical filtration that is claimed to eliminate 99.97% of particulates at up to 0.3μm in size from the air. In simpler words, these air purifiers are capable of clearing out pollen, dust, pet hair, smoke, dander, cotton fibers and more from the air. There’s also a built-in negative air ionisation feature that helps in keeping the air we breathe fresh.
Despite the compact size, the Purifier 4 Lite has a coverage area ranging between 25-43 square metres, the Purifier 4 a coverage area of 28-28 square metres, and the Purifier 4 Pro a coverage area of 35-60 square metres.
Xiaomi says that the one filter can last up to a year, depending on the usage. The status of the filter can be checked on the Xiaomi Home app. This app also lets you remotely control the purifier, and you can also bark orders at them using Google Assistant or Amazon’s Alexa.
The Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 is priced at $299 (approx ₹22,500), while the Lite variant costs $199 (approx ₹15,000). The Pro variant, on the other hand, costs $399 (approx ₹30,000). We expect them to arrive at our shores sooner than later, but at this moment, there’s no official word.
