MWC 2024: OnePlus Watch 2 runs on Wear OS 4

Partner in time, you say?

The OnePlus Watch 2 is officially out in the world, launched at the MWC 2024. The second gen smartwatch from the brand has shed its proprietary software for the familiar stomping grounds of Wear OS 4. This means your favourite Google apps are there, including Google apps and services such as Maps, Assistant, Wallet, and Calendar. You can also access a range of watch-centric apps with built-in Google Play, including favourites like Gmail and Keep. Compatible with Android phones, it also offers features like Find My Device, Fast Pair, and Google Home integration.

The watch is powered by a Dual-Engine Architecture. This means, under the hood lies the duo of Snapdragon W5 and BES2700 chipsets. OnePlus says the W5, geared for performance, tackles Wear OS 4 and its apps, while the BES2700, built for efficiency, handles everyday tasks that run in the background.

Mirroring the design of the OnePlus 11 and 12, the Watch 2 comes in Black Steel and Radiant Steel colour schemes. A 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a 60Hz flash rate sits beneath a 2.5D sapphire crystal face (second only to diamond in hardness, according to OnePlus) and a stainless-steel chassis that shrugs off rust and corrosion. Personalisation options abound with customisable tiles, 20 pre-loaded watch faces, and an additional 80 downloadable ones. Plus it's both 5ATM and IP68 rated.

The OnePlus Watch 2 teams up with the OHealth app on your Android smartphone to offer a suite of health and fitness features. OHealth acts as your personal wellness hub, monitoring everything from daily activity and sleep to specific workouts with over 100 sports tracking modes. You can also receive deeper insights into your physical condition through OHealth’s long-term reports and tailor your workouts more effectively with sports tracking modes.

The OnePlus Watch 2 comes with a 500mAh battery, thanks to its Dual-Engine Architecture. Need full functionality for an extended trip? Smart Mode offers up to 100 hours of usage. And for those times when every drop counts, Power Saver Mode stretches battery life to 12 days. Plus, OnePlus' 7.5W VOOC Fast Charging tech brings the watch back to life in 60 minutes, so you're never out of power for long. The OnePlus Watch 2 is priced for ₹24,999.
