Google Pixel 8 comes with the latest Tensor G3 chipset and uses Google AI to create photos and videos

New Pixel, anyone?

The Pixel 8 comes as a dual-SIM smartphone right out of the box, running on Android 14. It features a 6.2-inch Actua display which, as per Google, gives you real-world clarity and is 42% brighter than Pixel 7’s display. The refresh rate has been upgraded from 90Hz to a more seamless 120Hz, however, it offers a choice between two fixed options, 120Hz and 60Hz, without a fully variable mode. With the Actua Display brightness tech, the device reaches a peak brightness of 2000 nits and 1400 nits for HDR content.

Under the hood, it's got Google's Tensor G3 chipset and Titan M2 security chip, all matched up with 8GB of RAM. Among the standout software improvements, Google brings us Best Take, a new feature that works its magic by blending multiple photos to make sure everyone in the picture looks their best. Then there's Audio Magic Eraser, a tool that uses smart machine learning to help you dial down unwanted background noise, like pesky crowds or windy days. Plus, the Video Boost  feature gives your recorded videos a boost, though we'll have to wait a bit as it's set to drop later this year. The device also boasts 7 years of software support, which (apparently) is the longest duration of software support on any smartphone.

When it comes to snapping photos and shooting videos, the freshly baked Pixel 8 boasts an upgraded 50MP primary camera and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. For all your selfie and video chat needs, there's an 11MP front camera with a f/2.2 aperture.

As for connectivity, Pixel 8 comes with Wi-Fi 6E, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. In terms of sensors, it's got a versatile lineup including an accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity sensor, and a fingerprint scanner for keeping your device secure with biometric authentication.

The smartphone packs a 4,575mAh battery and comes with support for 27W wired charging. Google also says the smartphone comes with wireless charging support. If you're eyeing the Pixel 8, it's available for a price of ₹75,999, and you'll find it in 128GB/256GB storage variants. You'll have the choice of three colours: Hazel, Obsidian, and Rose.
