Ready to strap on?

The first OnePlus Watch dropped in 2021, now word on the street is that the brand is ready to launch a sequel! The Watch 2 is expected to make its grand entrance at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 next month in Barcelona, Spain. MWC is taking place from February 26 to February 29, 2024.

Tipster Max Jambor also shared that the OnePlus Watch 2 is gearing up for its big debut at MWC 2024. Now, while the original OnePlus Watch has a custom OS, its successor is rumoured to embrace Google's Wear OS. The burning question remains whether it'll be Wear OS 3 or the latest Wear OS 4. Jambor hinted that the Watch 2 will come with Wear OS 4 when it hits the shelves.

According to a BIS certification uncovered by MySmartPrice, the model number OPWWE231 has been spotted, hinting at a possible imminent launch of the new smartwatch. If the Watch comes with Wear OS  we can expect features like Google Play, expanded app support, native WhatsApp integration, and Google Assistant too. Additionally, buzz has it that the second-gen watch will be fueled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset, tailored specifically for wearables.

The Watch 2 is also expected to sport a 1.43-inch AMOLED circular display complemented by a couple of buttons on the side for easy navigation. Health and fitness enthusiasts can look forward to a variety of wellness-focused features packed into the device. And, fast charging capability is expected to be included too. Recent reports also suggest that the Watch 2 might sport a speaker grill on one side and two buttons on the opposite side, enhancing its functionality.
