The Blendjet 2 is surprisingly easy to use, and doesn’t take much to keep clean and have it ready to go for the next time. One you load up the ingredients of your smoothie or mix, a single press of the button runs it for a 20-second cycle. You can also switch to pulse mode, and keep the button pressed for a bit of manual control over the blending process.
Depending on your ingredients, you may need to run the Blendjet 2 for more than one 20-second cycle. Liquids and semi-solids aren’t too much of an effort for the blender, but the more solids you toss it, the more likely it is to need more cycles to properly blend up everything. Soft fruits such as bananas and lychees were easy to mash up, while others such as apples needed a bit more effort.
It isn’t really a replacement for a corded blender, which typically comes with more power and accessories such as blending jars. However, the Blendjet 2 has the advantage of size, portability, and ease of use just about anywhere. You can use it for regular household requirements, but it’s really meant for personal use, for juices, smoothies, milkshakes, and the like.
I did use it to make pancake mix and a chip dip on occasion, but it’s best used to blend together fresh drinks. Any of Milk, water, ice, and sugar can be tossed in with one or two major fruit ingredients, eggs, or anything similar, producing good results with one or two 20-second blend cycles. If you’re making something for yourself, you can drink straight out of the jar on the go, making it ideal to carry along to the gym or even on treks and drives.
Cleaning the Blendjet isn’t difficult at all, since all the components are understandably water resistant. You can wash it normally by hand without needing to worry about any of the components including the USB Type-C charging port, but it isn’t recommended to put this into a dishwasher or even submerge it completely in water. Alternatively, add water and liquid soap directly into the Blendjet 2 and let it run for a cycle to clean it up, after which you only need to wash the soap away.
The Blendjet 2 has a 4,000mAh battery which ran for 18-20 of the default 20-second blend cycles on a single charge. Topping up the battery is as easy as plugging it into your USB Type-C charger; either use the included cable, or even connect the blender to your smartphone charger. A full charge takes around an hour, with indicator lights on the blender letting you know when it’s charged. Just make sure you aren’t charging it while there’s water in the port.
