The 2-inch LCD screen on the Promate VuTune headphones is actually quite useful. It showcases key data such as the battery level on the headphones and the remote unit itself, and you can also cycle through screens for the controls. Set the time and date, adjust the volume, toggle between the ANC and hear-through modes, set the equaliser preset, and even set up alarms on the headset.
Usefully, you can also adjust the brightness, background wallpaper, and display language for the screen, as well as use it as a soft torch light by activating the white background torch. A couple of screens - the ‘like’ icon and the ‘camera’ toggle didn’t seem to work for me when the headset was paired with my smartphone.

The LCD remote magnetically attaches onto its cradle on the right side of the headset, and can be taken out for wireless remote operation as needed. It’s a rather cool touch, letting you pop it off to toggle things like playback, volume, and ANC controls, after which you can conveniently pop it back into place for safekeeping. The remote itself has a USB Type-C port for charging it quickly.
