Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is here, check out our first impressions!

The fun one grows up

Always the playful one, the Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 is for once not just a fashion-forward Star Trek prop. This time, it’s smarter, tougher, and actually flagship-worthy. The biggest upgrade? That new Flex Window. It’s now 4.1 inches, edge-to-edge, with the thinnest bezels ever on a Galaxy phone at 1.25mm. It’s brighter too, at 2600 nits and finally gets a 120Hz cover screen, making it way more usable than the Flip 6’s tiny excuse. You also get widgets like the Now Bar and Now Brief that offer timely updates, information and suggestions based on weather, location and interest, plus a new Clock Font to Fit feature for extra customisation. Overall, it feels like a more complete Flip than ever before.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is up for pre-order starting July 9, and will go on general sale on July 25. Price and other details specific to India are awaited, stay tuned for more. Prices for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 start at Rs. 1,09,999 for the 12GB/256GB variant, going up to Rs. 1,21,999 for the 12GB/512GB option. Customers who pre-order the 256GB option will get the 512GB option at no extra cost, for both the Fold 7 and Flip 7, only during the pre-order phase.

Inside, the 6.9-inch main display is the largest and widest ever on a Flip , matching the Galaxy S25+ for width and backed by a larger 4300mAh battery for up to 31 hours of video playback. That’s a big step up from the Flip 6’s 3700mAh cell.

AI gets a serious boost too. FlexCam now supports multimodal AI so you can just point the phone at something, ask a question, and get answers without even touching the screen. Auto Zoom adjusts framing automatically, and a new zoom slider makes manual tweaks easy.

It’s also tougher and thanks to the Armor Flex hinge, it’s 30% thinner. It is still IP48-rated but it packs the most complex circuit board in any Galaxy yet thanks to all the miniaturization of tech and increase in display size. Plus, in a major boost to productivity, Samsung DeX support finally arrives on a Flip so you turn it into a desktop to shocked onlookers.

Want something simpler? The Flip 7 FE keeps most of the Flip 6 internals but upgrades the camera to 50MP. The Flip 7 finally ditches the gimmicks and grows into a proper premium foldable — still fun, but is it actually worth flipping for? We shall find out soon as we put it under the Stuff scanner in the coming weeks.
