Stuff Awards 2023: Foldable Smartphone of the Year

Here’s a foldable that doesn’t feel like one when folded and opens the door to a new world when open. Thinner than most foldable devices of this class and almost the same weight as the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the OnePlus Open sports a standard 6.31-inch cover display, which neatly hides a 7.82-inch inner screen. These are new brighter ProXDR displays with 2800 nits of brightness and delivering 120Hz refresh rate. With a competitive triple-camera setup, arguably the best in a foldable phone, the phone does justice to the Hasselblad logo, especially in optics and filters. This is probably the only foldable device we can think of, that utilises the screen real estate to the maximum. Oxygen OS 13.2 convincingly makes up for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2’s weighted feel with plenty of multitasking possibilities.
