Nintendo Direct June 2023: Everything Announced

The gaming goodness is about to hit your Switch in full force

From a delightful new 2D Mario adventure in Super Mario Bros to a thrilling remake of the beloved Super Mario RPG, and even a new trailer for Detective Pikachu 2, there's a lot to look forward to! To make sure you stay in the loop and don't miss a single beat, we've prepared a roundup of all the major first-party games coming to the Nintendo Switch in the coming months.

1) Everybody 1-2 Switch!

Nintendo's latest party collection, Everybody 1-2-Switch, is coming in late June 2023! You can join a crowd of friends and dive into a whirlwind of mini-games that'll make you move like a maniac. You'll be pumping your phone or Joy-Con in the air like a mad scientist trying to blow up a balloon! And if you want to win a race, all you gotta do is run like lightning on the spot. Most importantly up to 100 players can join in the fun. So, if you happen to be a social butterfly with an entourage of dozens of friends, this game is tailor-made for you.

You can even play Everybody 1-2-Switch with your buddies using the good ol' local co-op. Just grab those Joy-Cons or whip out your smartphones and get ready to show off your crazy skills together.

2) Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE

Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE will test your detective skills on the Nintendo Switch! Developed by the talented folks at Too Kyo Games and Spike Chunsoft, and co-written by the famous Kazutaka Kodaka, the mastermind behind the Danganronpa series, this game is bound to keep you on the edge of your seat. You will get to step into the shoes of a young detective, you possess mysterious powers and suffer from a case of forgotten memories. But you won't face this eerie journey alone. Join forces with a group of fellow detectives and delve into the secrets of your own past while saving the peculiar Kanai Ward from supernatural terrors. But things will get really spooky as you navigate through the twisted streets of Kanai Ward, you'll be haunted by a spirit that lends a hand in your quest for truth.

3) Pikmin 4

Pikmin 4 is finally on its way! This highly anticipated sequel follows in the footsteps of the beloved Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. In Pikmin 4, you'll take charge of plant-like creatures as you guide them through natural environments. Your mission? Collecting specific objects while navigating treacherous terrain and avoiding all sorts of dangers that lie in wait. But here's the twist that'll send shivers down your spine: this time, you'll have the opportunity to explore the hauntingly beautiful night-time landscapes too. To build up the excitement for the release of Pikmin 4, Nintendo has also recently unveiled HD remasters of the original Pikmin and its sequel, Pikmin 2, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. These revamped classics are now available on the Nintendo eShop.

4) Detective Pikachu Returns

Grab your detective hats and get ready for a good time, because Detective Pikachu is making a grand return! The long-awaited sequel to the Nintendo 3DS classic has been officially announced. Our favourite gruffly-voiced Pikachu is back on the case, investigating a brand new mystery in the city of Ryme. Join forces with Pikachu and his trusty partner Tim Goodman as they unravel secrets. Can't wait to see if it aligns with the film? Well, the suspense is killing us too.

5) Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Mark your calendars and dust off your overalls, because Super Mario Bros. Wonder is set to release on October 20, 2023! This latest installment in the classic side-scrolling franchise is packed with twists that will leave you wanting more. So get ready to explore vibrant and surreal worlds, smashing bricks, nabbing power-ups, and saving the princess as usual. But the introduction of Wonder Flowers will warp and twist your reality, turning your path into a mind-bending adventure. And did we mention you can transform Mario into an elephant?

6) WarioWare: Move It!

Surprise, surprise! WarioWare is back, and it's time to get your groove on with Move It! This microgame extravaganza has over 200 challenges waiting to be conquered, so you'll most probably be on your feet, busting out crazy moves, and laughing till you cry. Move over, couch potatoes, because Wario is here to make you sweat and have a blast while doing it! Its launch is slated for November 3, 2023.

7) Super Mario RPG

Super Mario RPG is set to make a return, releasing on November 17, 2023. This beloved collaboration between Nintendo and Square Enix is getting a major remake. After years of debates and rights issues, the wait is finally over. So pack your bags to embark on a remarkable journey as you join Mario and his pals in an epic RPG filled with memorable characters, thrilling battles, and a captivating story.

8) Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince

Ready to unleash your inner monster tamer? Because Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is making its exclusive debut on the Nintendo Switch on December 1, 2023! Developed by Square Enix, this game takes a spin on the Dragon Quest franchise. You’ll get to explore a colourful and fantastical world as you collect and fuse monsters for battles. As you journey through the realm, you'll encounter both friendly and darker creatures, honing your skills as a top-notch monster wrangler.

9) Pokemon Scarlet + Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero

Attention, Pokemon trainers! Get ready for new chapters in the world of Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. Two major DLC expansions are on the horizon, ready to take you on new quests and uncover hidden treasures. First up is The Teal Mask, whisking you away to the enchanting land of Kitakami. Explore new locales, encounter never-before-seen Pokemon, and unravel a mysterious secret that lies within this vibrant region. But the adventure doesn't end there! The Indigo Disk will send you on a journey to the mysterious Blueberry Academy, a fascinating educational institution situated in the heart of a vast ocean. 10) Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time

This continuation of the original game promises to expand your virtual life with a plethora of new possibilities. If you are a puzzle enthusiast, this will definitely catch your attention because Professor Layton is returning with a steam-powered twist! In the highly-anticipated Nintendo Switch exclusive, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, our beloved puzzle-solving professor is embarking on a new adventure filled with mind-boggling challenges. Join forces with Layton and his apprentice, Luke, as they explore the strange and captivating land of Steam Bison—a steampunk future city inspired by the United States. This sequel is set to bring back the signature Layton gameplay that fans know and love, delivering hours of brain-teasing puzzles and an immersive storyline.
