WWDC 2023: Apple event likely to bring new mixed-reality headset, macs, revamped watchOS 10 and more

The clock’s ticking!

So, WWDC 2023 is around the corner and Apple is reportedly planning to unveil some cool stuff other than just iOS 17. The event will start on June 5, and there are rumours that Apple might announce multiple new updates to its products, including macOS 14, iPadOS, and watchOS 10. Yes, they now have our attention! Apple is planning to unveil new hardware products too.

New Macbooks

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is likely to announce new Macs alongside its software updates. You heard that right! New MacBooks are finally on the way! We can't wait to see what these new devices will look like, maybe they will have an eject button that launches a pizza, who knows! There will also be a new 15in MacBook Air alongside an updated version of the existing 13in MacBook Air and a 13in MacBook Pro. The new MacBooks will run on "something in line with the current M2 processors," which we assume means they'll be powered by Apple's M2 chip.

The 15-inch MacBook Air was spotted in App Store developer logs, which revealed that it has an 8-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and 8GB of RAM. We don't have any information yet on the tech specs of the updated 13-inch MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro, but we expect them to be powerful machines that can handle anything you throw at them.

The Mixed-Reality Headset

The much-rumoured Mixed-Reality headset might finally be unveiled at WWDC! Who doesn't want a headset that gives them the ability to experience virtual and augmented reality? We know we do! Maybe we’ll finally be able to jump into our favourite video games and interact with characters, or even play Quidditch with Harry Potter! The possibilities are endless. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the headset will feature multiple lenses and sensors to provide a mix of virtual and augmented reality. It's also likely to come with Apple's first xrOS software update and a development kit. In terms of hardware, the headset is expected to have a high-resolution display, powerful processors, and advanced sensors to provide an immersive experience.

WatchOS 10

Gurman also mentioned that watchOS 10 will receive its biggest-ever major update since the original version. That's huge! We don't have any more specific details about the tech specs of the Apple Watch, but we expect it to have more powerful processors and new features that make it even more useful in your daily life. We can't wait to see what kind of features will be added to the Apple Watch. Maybe it will finally be able to make us breakfast in the morning or even fold our laundry!

So, mark your calendars, people! June 5th is going to be a day to remember. Apple has a lot in store for us, and we can't wait to see what kind of surprises they have in store for us. Who knows, maybe they'll even unveil a device that teleports us to different locations! So, there you have it! Some of the tech specs that we know (or think we know) about the products that Apple is planning to unveil at WWDC 2023.
