Dolby Labs brings Dolby Cinema to India, starting with exhibitors in six cities across India

Dolby Cinema combines Dolby Vision and Atmos technologies on the cinema screen

Dolby Labs has announced the coming of Dolby Cinema technologies to India, starting with cinema halls in six cities across the country. Dolby Cinema combines two key visual and audio technologies from the brand - Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos - on the cinema screen, to deliver a better cinema-going experience for viewers. Dolby Cinema is coming to six cities across India this year, promising to deliver an audio-visual experience for the cinema-goer which tries to deliver exactly what the filmmakers intended.

Six theatres in cities across India have been confirmed to bring the Dolby Cinema experience this year. City Pride in Pune, Allu Cineplex in Hyderabad, LA Cinema in Trichy, AMB Cinemas in Bengaluru, EVM Cinemas in Kochi, and G Cineplex in Ulikkal will first bring the Dolby Cinema experience in 2025. The setups for Dolby Atmos involve overhead speakers for a true surround sound experience, while Dolby Vision delivers better colours and dynamic range for the projection, promising a more vibrant and immersive viewing experience.
