Google Pixel 6a launched in India, prices start at ₹43,999

Good things come in small packages

A couple of months ago Google announced the Google Pixel 6a, a budget-friendly version of the flagship Pixel series. Now, after much anticipation, the Pixel 6a is finally in India, making it the first Pixel series phone launched in this country in the last two years.

The 6.1in FHD+ OLED display features a 60Hz refresh rate and the screen comes coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Being one of the first to run Android 13, this smartphone sports a pretty standard design with a flat panel with skinny bezels at all sides. The big change seen is that it will be powered by a Tensor chipset, designed by Google itself working alongside the Titan M2 security chip to give you peace of mind.

In the camera department, there are 12.2MP wide-angle and 12MP ultra-wide lenses at the back, and an 8MP punch-hole camera up front. Despite being low on megapixel count, the cameras do pack in all the best features and modes the series has to offer. The inclusion of Night Sight makes low-light photography a breeze while Magic Eraser in Google Photos makes distractions disappear easily.

Google has packed in a 4,306mAh battery with support for fast charging. The Adaptive Battery mode claims to last over 24 hours and up to 72 hours when in the Extreme Battery Saver mode. The handset packs in several other accessibility features like speech recognition which comes with a Recorder, Live Caption, and Live Translate.

The Pixel 6a is available in India in a 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage configuration with two colour variants – Charcoal and Chalk, and is priced at ₹43,999. If you are looking to get your hands on this phone, pre-orders start now all across the country.
