If your Instagram feed is starting to look like yesterday’s leftovers, good news is coming your way. Meta’s rolling out a feature that'll let you wipe the slate clean and make the algorithm forget everything it thinks it knows about you.
Meta is testing out a new feature that lets you hit reset on all the algorithm-generated recommendations that shape your feed, Reels, and Explore sections. With this update, you’ll be able to clear out those old suggestions in the content preferences section of your settings and, as Meta puts it, "start fresh," giving you the chance to re-tune the app’s suggestions to match your vibe.

Meta also mentioned that, over time, recommendations will start to re-personalise, curating fresh content based on the accounts and posts you engage with. Though the feature is still in testing, the company has confirmed that it will be available globally soon. It’s also worth noting that this reset won’t delete any of your data or mess with the way ads are served to you. Meta is positioning this update as part of its effort to roll out more safety features for teens, making sure they see more appropriate content.
