KEF has taken the wraps off the XIO, its first-ever soundbar—and it’s making quite an entrance. The premium 5.1.2-channel model looks chic and modern and promises a powerful blend of cinematic surround sound and high-fidelity music playback.
Under the hood, the soundbar houses an array of speakers – two full-range drivers, four P185 bass units, and six of KEF’s signature Uni-Q MX drivers—two of which are angled upward to bounce Dolby Atmos effects off the ceiling for overhead sound. Driving this setup are 12 Class D amplifiers delivering a combined 820 watts of output, ensuring room-filling audio that’s bound to leave an impression, not just on you, but probably your next-door peeps too.
KEF says it has designed the XIO to offer the best of both worlds—blockbuster movie impact and high-fidelity music playback. To make that seamless, it comes with wireless options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay, Google Cast, and Spotify Connect.

Stretching over 1.2 metres wide and tipping the scales at 10.5kg, the XIO looks like it demands a substantial media unit and ideally a TV 55 inches or larger to match its scale and presence. Available in black or sophisticated grey, the minimalist design and premium finish easily set it apart from the typical, plastic-clad competition.
The KEF XIO will set you back $2500 (approx. Rs. 2,15,500).
