Nikon India has unveiled the latest Nikkor Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR, a high-magnification zoom lens crafted for Nikon Z mount mirrorless cameras. With a 14.2x zoom ratio and a super-telephoto focal length of 400mm, Nikon says the lens provides a broad shooting range.

Nikon says that the Nikkor Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR doesn't compromise on portability despite its impressive zoom capabilities. Designed to be compact and lightweight, this lens is perfect for handheld shooting and travel adventures. It has a minimum focusing distance of 0.2m at the wide-angle end and 1.2m at the telephoto end, enabling you to capture close-up shots and portraits with blurred backgrounds.

The lens also features a built-in optical vibration reduction (VR) mechanism that provides up to 5.0 stops to ensure sharp images even in low-light conditions and while using the super-telephoto zoom. This can be pushed even further to 5.5 stops with the Synchro VR feature, which combines in-camera and lens VR for enhanced stability. To capture fast-moving subjects with ease, the lens is equipped with a responsive stepping motor (STM) for quick and precise autofocus.

Crafted with videographers in mind, the Nikkor Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR lens is engineered to minimise focus breathing and provides a linear manual focus for precise control while recording videos. Its exterior design mirrors the style of the 2nd-generation Z lenses, exuding a modern and professional look. Moreover, the lens is also dust and drip-resistant, so you can expect reliable performance even in challenging weather conditions. The Nikkor Z 28-400MM F/4-8 VR is priced at ₹1,28,995.
