PlayStation India reveals the first gameplay of Suri: The Seventh Note for PS5

Blending rhythm gameplay with a magical, India-inspired world!

Tathvamasi, the PlayStation India Hero-backed studio, has unveiled its first PlayStation 5 project, Suri: The Seventh Note, showing off  fresh gameplay footage and insights via the PlayStation India YouTube channel.

Suri: The Seventh Note is a rhythm-driven 2D Metroidvania set on the enchanted island of Suri, where a corrupted beat has warped the land’s natural harmony. Players assume the role of Ajeera, who navigates diverse environments inspired by India’s rich landscapes and mythology. Her quest: to cure her mother’s mysterious illness by locating a legendary magical fruit hidden in the island’s deepest heart.

The footage highlights Ajeera gliding across varied biomes, evading mobs, and performing parkour maneuvers, while showcasing a unique mechanic: rhythm haptics. Game director Glen Martin says the campaign strikes a balance, challenging but not punishing, and never too simple. According to the art director, the game’s visuals draw heavily from Indian design traditions, including Rajasthani, Rajput, and Sikh architectural influences.
