What if your robot vacuum could do more than just clean? Sure, today’s models dodge your scattered shoes and clutter with AI precision but imagine one that picks up after you first. Well, that's what the Roborock Saros Z70 can do!
The robovac features a flexible, twisting "OmniGrip" arm, which Roborock claims is the first foldable robotic arm to hit the mass market. This appendage rises and extends to scoop up whatever is cluttering your floor while it vacuums. Currently, the Saros Z70 can pick up four types of objects weighing up to 300 grams – socks, paper, small towels, and sandals. Roborock says it's working on expanding support for more clothing items, shoes, and pet toys.
Equipped with five axes of movement, the OmniGrip arm can unfold, extend, and twist horizontally and vertically. Inside the arm is a camera and LED light that helps it spot objects, while sensors let it measure weight and fine-tune its precision.
Roborock says during its first cleaning run, the Saros Z70 scans the area to identify and mark objects it can pick up. Afterwards, the vacuum deploys its OmniGrip arm to move the items to a clean spot and finish the job in areas previously blocked by clutter. It can go on a third pass to place those items in a designated spot on the map – a closet or in a basket you’ve set up via the Roborock app.
The Z70’s navigation is powered by "Starsight" sensors and cameras that wrap around its body. When docked, these cameras switch off, though you can control them manually through the app. It comes with 22,000Pa of suction power, a dual anti-tangle system for its roller brushes, and dual spinning mops.
To make life even easier, it pairs with Roborock’s new Multifunctional Dock 4.0, which charges the robot and handles auto-emptying, refilling and draining water tanks, and cleaning the mops with hot water washing and hot air drying. Plus, it features a speedy 2.5-hour fast-charge feature to keep you cleaning without long delays.
