The Samsung Galaxy S24 series made its grand entrance, flaunting all the fancy AI features, thanks to the Galaxy AI tech. But there’s a catch – the AI features are only going to work on Samsung Galaxy devices for a two-year stretch.
A footnote on Samsung's device pages for the new Galaxy S24 series models states "Galaxy AI features will be provided for free until the end of 2025 on supported Samsung Galaxy devices. Different terms may apply for AI features provided by third parties."
This clearly means if you get a Samsung Galaxy S24 series phone, you get the VIP treatment with Galaxy AI features, all on the house until the clock strikes 2026. But after that, the suspense lingers – will there be a tollgate for these features after the initial two-year joyride? Well, Samsung's keeping mum on that cliffhanger.
Samsung's footnote is also unclear as to whether they are going to put a price tag on all their AI-powered features — Phone, Messages, Gallery, and Notes app features, or is it just the third-party treats — Circle to Search that was created in partnership with Google, that will cost you? Plus, the million-dollar question – how much will it cost? We've written our questions over to Samsung, so hang tight for the inside scoop. Keep your eyes on this space for more deets!
