Stranger Things 4 to The Witcher: Here are the Netflix titles getting Spatial Audio support

You may have heard about Netflix’s recent troubles with regard to its severe loss of viewers to other platforms. The company has been trying out new ways to retain its audiences, the latest being the addition of spatial audio. This will drastically improve the audio experience across its catalogue of original titles. The feature should provide more immersive sound, especially for those who use headphones to binge content.

Netflix has even partnered with Sennheiser, to create an extended spatial audio output that can be streamed through stereo speakers or headphones, eliminating the need to buy any extra equipment or have a professional surround setup, unless you are an audiophile, of course. The regular stereo output on Netflix will now be replaced with Sennheiser’s Ambeo 2-Channel Spatial Audio format.

Furthermore, Netflix has added support for Apple’s spatial audio on Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad devices allowing you to experience sound with 5.1 surround sound and Dolby Atmos audio. You can select spatial audio on a compatible Apple device by simply changing the “Streaming quality” setting to “High or Auto.”

Regardless of your subscription plan, all users will have access to spatial audio provided their devices can support it. Currently, the selection of content is limited, only including content like Red Notice, The Witcher, Locke & Key, The Adam Project, and Stranger Things 4. With plans to grow this significantly, at the moment you can browse to see what’s readily accessible by typing “spatial audio” into the Netflix search bar.
