The Volkswagen ID. Cross Concept is an electric compact SUV. The car has made its debut at IAA Mobility in Munich. In Urban Jungle green, it features a 'Pure Positive' design language with 3D light signature. Drawing subtle nods to Volkswagen icons like the Golf and VW bus, it offers a fresh, modern take without trying too hard.

The ID. Cross Concept SUV on display at IAA Mobility measures 4,161 mm in length, with a 2,601 mm wheelbase, making it close in size to the T-Cross. But it stands out with specially designed 21-inch Balboa alloy wheels and custom 235/40 R21 Goodyear tyres that carry the rim design into the sidewall.
Inside, the five-seater offers a roomy 450-litre boot, plus an additional 25 litres of storage space under the hood. The cabin has fabric surfaces and preset light, sound, and climate “Atmospheres” that turn the warm Vanilla Chai interior into a relaxed space, as per Volkswagen. The seats can also fold flat, creating a proper recliner, just like in a classic VW Bus.

The ID. Cross Concept features well-organised menus, natural voice control, and easy-to-use buttons. The multifunction steering wheel gets a fresh design, while two main screens sit neatly on the same visual axis – an 11-inch digital instrument display and a 13-inch central touchscreen for infotainment. Under the skin, it runs on Volkswagen’s MEB modular electric platform, set to get smarter with future MEB+ upgrades.
The ID. Cross Concept features an integrated electric drive system where the motor and power electronics are housed in the front axle, and the high-voltage battery is positioned flat in the sandwich floor. It delivers 155 kW (211 PS) of power, driving the front wheels, and offers a WLTP range of up to 420 km.
