Well, the smartphone market is competitive (to say the least) and no one wants to be left behind in the dust to fend for themselves. In keeping with that logic, the next to hop onto the foldable bandwagon is Xiaomi with its eagerly anticipated Xiaomi Mix Fold 3. It is all set to make its grand entrance on August 14 at 4:30 pm IST but in China. No word on the Indian launch date or announcement. Most likely it won’t come here.
Not a lot has been revealed yet, but what we do know is that the brand is staying true to its sleek design philosophy. The Mix Fold 3 retains its thin body concept from the previous generation. Notably, its slimness has now reached a point where further miniaturization of electronic components is challenging. CEO Lei Jun highlighted the necessity of surmounting foundational technological challenges in order to reshape the structure and spatial dynamics of the folding screen.
The Mix Fold 3 aims to blend a thin and light design with flagship capabilities. Its new hinge innovation allows the coexistence of both attributes. Beyond aesthetics, Xiaomi's goal extends to encompass flagship features spanning imaging, performance, battery life, wireless charging, and more. This device comes in different versions, including a luxurious glass-crafted gold edition, catering to diverse preferences. In essence, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 aims to herald a new era of foldable smartphones but is it something we’ve seen before? We’ll just have to wait and see!
